INTRODUCTION:

1. The promises of God

a) God is our Father

b) He is the God of all comfort

c) He will comfort all who are facing tribulation

2. These promises

a) They are to be understood

b) They are to be applied in our life and ministry

 

THE WORD OF GOD

1. It comes from the Lord

2. God is faithful

3. His word is just as faithful 2 Corinthians 1:18

4. The promises of God are to be trusted fully 2 Corinthians 1:20

5. The word of God would bring forth His glory 2 Corinthians 1:20

 

THE WORK OF GOD IN OUR LIFE

God’s role is to be carefully and gratefully noted:

1. He establishes us 2 Corinthians 1:21

2. He anoints us 2 Corinthians 1:21

3. He seals us 2 Corinthians 1:22

4. He has given us the Holy Spirit as a seal 2 Corinthians 1:22

 

AMIDST TRIBULATION

1. God is actively involved

a) His hand may be invisible

b) He is significantly involved

i) In comfort

ii) In protection

2. The Word of God amidst Tribulation

a) His word strengthens

b) His word comforts

c) His word enlightens

d) His word establishes

 

OUR CHALLENGE

1. To know God’s word better

2. To hide His word in our heart

3. To grow further through the Word of God

4. There is every reason to set aside time to know God’s word deeply
